Making sure not to wake any evils, Grace carefully manoeuvred through the swamp. A strange, hauntingly beautiful sound drew her closer to the edge of the water.
She was unsure whether the sound came from the harmless dryads or from the treacherous beings that took her trusted first mate just days ago.
There, at the lakeshore, she saw the thing she both feared and hated most in the world..
This duo shoot had been on our wishlists for quite some time, and this summer, it was finally time! The story will continue soon...

Grace was well aware of the danger of a mermaid's love. This connection felt real. More real than the earth she stood on.
But how much of that feeling was just a part of the creature's malicious enchantment?

The pair liked to startle each other by sneaking up from behind or from beneath the surface of the water. A dark inside joke, because the danger of being discovered was ever present. The history between pirates and mermaids was not in their favour.
While they cherished every loving moment together, they had to keep a watchful eye

But their watchful eye was not in vain.
That night, the pirate returned to the clearing and wrapped her mermaid in a warm embrace.
Behind her, shadows stirred. Steel caught the last of the light as her crew stepped forward, their fury loud and burning.
“The mermaid's cursed the Captain!" They cried. "Strike her down!"
Grace stepped in front of the mermaid, rapier drawn, her stance fierce though her heart shook.
Blades clashed.
In the chaos, the mermaid rose from the water and pressed close. For a long moment, the world fell away—no curses, no crew, only them.
“Go,” Grace whispered.
The mermaid’s fingers lingered against hers before she disappeared into the depths.
Steel struck. The moment was gone. But in that parting, as love meant surrender, they both understood—this was no curse.
It had always been true.
